Master of Arts in Bible Translation (M.A.B.T.)
Program Overview
The Master of Arts in Bible Translation program is designed for the purpose of preparing individuals whose hearts
God has touched to translate the Bible. Courses in translation principles, procedures, and skills, as well as courses in
linguistics are required along
- To equip students with necessary skills for the sacred task of translation God's Word.
- To impart linguistic skills needed to discover and describe the structure of languages on the phonological,
morphological, and syntactical levels. - To inspire students with the vision of conducting Bible translation work within the text of church planting.
Candidates should have graduated with a Bachelor of Theology degree from SIBBC or an institution that follows a
similar theological position Students may also be considered based upon the following credentials:
- A bachelor's degree from a secular institution in the field of education, linguistics, literacy or similar field of
study. - Ministry experience and theological training in a local church setting. These candidates may be granted a
certificate upon graduation and may not be eligible for the Master's Degree.
- The candidate should finish 64 credit hours.
- The candidate should maintain a 3.00 grade point cumulative average.
- Assigned translation and linguistic projects should be submitted. The translation and linguistic work should
demonstrate integrity and competence in the skills required - Approval for graduation also depends on the candidate's overall Christian life, conduct, maturity, and efficiency
in service for the Lord.
